AfD voters: Look to Italy

The Italian government under the leadership of the pro-fascist Giorgia Meloni has, as promised during the election campaign, effectively abolished the citizen's income. The consequences for those affected are glaring. She has classified all people under 60 and without underage children as "fit for work". They now no longer receive any support in the event of unemployment or illness.

The Citizen's Income (italian "reddito di cittadinanza") was introduced by the Five Star Movement in 2019 to combat poverty in Italy. At 14.6%, the unemployment rate in the south of the country in 2022 was almost three times as high as in the north (5.1%), reports zdf.de.

What does this have to do with the AfD?

The AfD actually rejects state kindergartens and wants to promote education by mothers.

Children should go to prison earlier and the age of criminal responsibility should be lowered to twelve.

Disrupt state intervention in the economy.

Abolish inheritance tax - thus further increasing the injustice between rich and poor.

Private health insurance instead of state egalitarianism.

And, of course, "Free travel for free citizens" - the old ADAC slogan against speed limits in the AfD election manifesto, which only leads to more car wrecks and more CO2.

For the less well-off Italians, a look at the election program would have been helpful - and actually still very obvious if the citizens' income was only introduced in 2019 - but they still voted for their "gravediggers" due to populist right-wing agitation. We are very excited and unfortunately not very optimistic that voters in Germany will be able to think ahead.
