First international forum on free culture and access to knowledge
In Barcelona there was the 1. Internationale Forum for open access to culture and knowledge. A charta with the following subjects has been discussed and admitted:
A. Knowledge Commons and the Public Domain
B. Defending access to Technological Infrastructures and Net neutrality
C. Citizens rights’ in the digital context
D. Stimulating Creativity and Innovation
E. Access to works for persons with reading disabilities
Dazu wurden formuliert:
Guidelines for Education and Access to Knowledge
Free/Libre and Open Source Software
Structural requirements for a knowledge society
Rights vis a vis networks: Freedom to use, create and connect
Infrastructure and market regulation
Die Charta:
We, a broad coalition from over 20 countries, of hundreds of thousands of citizens, users, consumers, organizations, artists, hackers, members of the free culture movement, economists, lawyers, teachers, students, researchers, scientists, activists, workers, unemployed, entrepreneurs, creators…
We invite all citizens to make this Charter theirs, share it and put it into practice.
We invite all governments, multinationals and institutions urgently to listen to it, understand it and enforce it.
