German Armed Forces at the Virtual Easter March

A special contribution to the Virtual Easter March was made by the Special Office for Stultification (Besondere Amt für Veralberung, BfV). With an adbusting, the Berlin communication guerrillas hijacked the Bundeswehr's advertising at the House of Representatives in Berlin-Mitte. The original poster of the military showed a soldier*in front of the folding computer and advertised for applications in the IT sector. The adbusting picks up the concentrated thoughtful pose of the soldier*in and complements it with two comic-style thought bubbles: "Hm... instead of thinking about the military inside we should think about civil disaster control...". A second thought bubble adds: "...and abolish the Bundeswehr and build a society free of domination!".

"Instead of advertising for military personnel, the poster now reminds the members of parliament to think about civil disaster control", Caro Maaßen, spokesperson of the BfV, explains the idea behind the campaign.

According to the news magazine "Der Spiegel", the plans of the War Ministry for the deployment in the interior are very advanced. Since April 3, the military has had 15,000 soldiers* on standby to be deployed in the interior if necessary. This explicitly includes sovereign tasks with armament. This border has already been "scratched" during Bundeswehr missions at the summits in Heiligendamm (with Tornado reconnaissance aircraft) and in Hamburg.

Even if the Special Office for Stultification (Besondere Amt für Veralberung, BfV) has hardly been mentioned in the media, so far, the "Joint Extremism and Counter-Terrorism Centre of the Federal Government and the Länder (GETZ) has dealt with adbusting four times in 2018/19, instead of hunting down the more than 100 Nazis currently wanted.
