Combatting human trafficking for labour exploitation

Aktion Freiheit statt Angst dokumentiert hier die Berichte der FRA (Fundamental Rights Agency), wenn sie unsere Themen berühren.

In ihrem aktuellen Wochenbericht kündigt die FRA an, dass sie sich verstärkt mit dem Thema der Ausbeutung von Arbeitsmigranten in der EU beschäftigen will.

Dazu wird die FRA zusammen mit der  Niederländischen Präsidentschaft im Rat auf einer Konferenz am 18./19. Januar zu dem Thema arbeiten. 

Die FRA wird dort schwere Arbeitsrechtsverstöße vorstellen, die in ihrem gleichnamigen Projekt dokumentiert wurden. (Contact: Alice Hamilton)

Combatting human trafficking for labour exploitation

FRA has been invited by the Netherlands Presidency of the Council of the EU to participate in a conference on strengthening multidisciplinary cooperation against human trafficking for labour exploitation. The event will take place in Amsterdam from 18-19 January. During the event a manual on strengthening cooperation in this area will be presented, which includes input from FRA’s severe labour exploitation project (Contact: Alice Hamilton).

The FRA  report identifies risk factors contributing to such exploitation and discusses means of improving the situation. It highlights the challenges faced by EU institutions and Member States in making the right of workers who have moved within or into the EU to decent working conditions a reality. It aims to support them in preventing severe labour exploitation, monitoring situations where severe labour exploitation occurs and making victims’ right to have access to justice a reality.
