Angst und Schrecken im Tor-Netzwerk

Am vergangenen Wochenende gab es einen koordinierten Angriff auf das Anonymisierungsnetzwerk Tor. Die Server von Freedom Hosting lieferten plötzlich einen Schadcode in einem Tor Browser Bundles für Windows aus. Diese Software übermittelte Daten der Tor-Nutzer an eine IP-Adresse des Unternehmen Saic (Sciene Applications International Corporation), einem der größten Dienstleister für das US-Verteidigungsministerium, die Heimatschutzbehörde und die Geheimdienste der USA. Genau genommen ist es sogar eine IP-Adresse aus einem Block, den Saic der NSA zuweist.

Auch die Firma hinter XKeyscore heißt SAIC und gehört zu den Großspendern für Barack Obama:

Beruhigend ist ja folgendes: Die NSA hatte in der Vergangenheit vermehrt versucht, anonyme Nutzer im Tor Netzwerk zu identifizieren. Gelungen sei dieses Vorhaben jedoch nur in Einzelfällen.
