06.01.2010: Saudi Arabia announces new registration law for online mediaWhile the Saudi government already controls the print and television media, they do not yet control most of the online media. If you want to publish anything online in Saudi Arabia, there is a new law coming into effect that has the potential to severely limit free speech.Applicants for licenses need to be Saudi, no less than 20 years of age, have high school certificates in the least and documents testifying to their good behavior. Anyone who truly practices free speech will likely not be able to obtain documents testifying to their good behavior.
