ACTA nur noch wenige Wochen vor Unterzeichnung

Auch nach Abschluss der Runde 10 der ACTA Verhandlungen ist der Text des Abkommen noch nicht offiziell veröffentlicht. Es wird bei dem nächsten Treffen in Japan Ende September mit dem Abschluss der Verhandlungen gerechnet.

Reuters reports that the U.S. believes the remaining issues - including the U.S. - E.U. divide over geographical indications - could be resolved at the next meeting. It also appears that there was again no agreement on releasing the draft text, with the U.S. presumably the ongoing obstacle.

Anmerkung: Bei den Verhandlungen geht es entscheidend um die Durchsetzung von US Vorstellungen zum Copyright. Blogger auf der oben angebenen Seite verweisen darauf, dass z.B. gerade das Fehlen solcher Regeln im Zeitalter der Industrialisierung einen wesentlichen Vorteil darstellte.
